Work visit to the Ministry of Territorial Administration and Infrastucture

Deputy Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructures of RA Vache Terteryan and Head of the Department of Local Government Ashot Giloyan met with Erik Foxgard, Head of Development of SALAR International Programs, Halyna Lindh, Head of the "Support to Decentralization and Local Self-Government Reforms in Armenia" program in Sweden, and "Support to Decentralization and Local Self-Government Reforms in Armenia" Varsenik Mnatsakanyan, Senior Manager of the Local Self-Government Reforms Program in Armenia.

The deputy minister welcomed the guests and highlighted the support for decentralization reforms, noting that this program direction is important especially from the perspective of the policy adopted by the RA government.

Vache Terteryan also spoke about institutional support for local self-government reforms, promoting the development of RA inter-community cooperation, and developing the capacities of local self-government bodies of newly formed multi-residential communities.

Terteryan emphasized that it is important to carry out measures aimed at developing the capacities of elected local authorities, to develop the professional knowledge and skills of local self-government bodies.

Speaking about the promotion of the development of inter-community cooperation, the deputy minister emphasized that this program direction is important especially in the context of the results of the community unification process.

Regarding institutional support, it was noted that it is a need that is always continuous, taking into account the large-scale reforms implemented in the sector.

Other important issues were discussed during the meeting.
