On December 18, 2023 online kick-off meeting with the communities and schools selected as a result of Open Call for Partnership announced back in October.
During the meeting, the participants had the opportunity to get to know each other, to present their questions, concerns and expectations in the field of school-community interaction and cooperation within the DeaLoG project. Taking advantage of the opportunity, partner communities and schools briefly presented their ideas and proposed conceptual ideas regarding school-community cooperation, frameworks and possibilities of school-community cooperation were discussed.
As further actions for 2024, the details of the working meeting to be organized with the participation of partners in January, in particular the current reforms in the direction of education, local self-government and decentralization were discussed. In addition, it is planned to sign a Partnership Agreement between each partner and SALAR International during the meeting.
SALAR Project in Armenia 2022-2026: Support to Decentralisation and Local Self-Government Reforms (DeaLoG) is a Project of the Swedish Association of Local Authorities and Regions (SALAR), implemented by SALAR International and funded by the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida).
The Project aims to support the government of the Republic of Armenia with decentralisation reforms and strengthening of local self-governments building on a longstanding history of local self-governments in Sweden and on the global cooperation experience, expertise and networks of SALAR International.
The Project’s main partners in Armenia are the Ministry of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure of RA, Ministry of Finance of RA Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of RA. The project actively cooperates with other government bodies, local actors and relevant representative organisations in Armenia.
