In 2024 In the months of March-April, SALAR International hosted workshops dedicated to community-school cooperation in ten RA municipal halls, during which the "Maturity Model" methodology of organizational development was presented. It is a self-assessment tool, with which partner communities and schools evaluate the current state of their interaction and plan what to do next, developing and implementing joint cooperation plans.
The goal of school-community cooperation is to promote the end results of education and contribute to the human development of the community through joint work. In addition to the deepening of purely horizontal partnership, it is expected that in the course of these works, issues related to decentralization will also be considered, which will be summarized and then presented to the policy makers.
During the workshop, the participants carried out a self-assessment and discussed the joint actions aimed at promoting school-community cooperation.
In the framework of the school-community initiative, SALAR International works with 10 communities of Armenia and 34 schools operating in those communities, according to the 2023 of the results of the Cooperation Invitation published in October. Accordingly, the communities that expressed interest in deepening school-community cooperation are: Vaik, Masis, Martuni, Hrazdan, Khoi, Vagharshapat, Akhuryan, Vanadzor, Tashir and Tatev.
